Meet Brenden – Scoliosis Surgery

Brenden’s scoliosis surgery at Memorial Hospital for Children added two inches of height and years to his life. It also prompted him to write two books — with photos – for his doctor to share with others. “I wanted other kids like me to know that if they are scared or concerned about getting surgery, it is not all that bad. It’s OK,” Brenden said. Brenden is March’s featured child in the free 2011 Memorial Hospital for Children calendar, available in King Soopers/City Market stores while supplies last.

What causes chest and back pain when sneezing ?

My fiance’ tends to have severe chest and back pain after sneezing. The pain kicks in immediately after he sneezes and can last up to about 30 seconds. I tried to do some research on these symptoms but I haven’t been getting a lot of information. I would just like to know what causes this to occur. Also, my fiance’ has “pectus excavatum” – a hollowed chest. Could this play a part in the pain he experiences ? Any information would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.
