i had exactly the same surgery but in may become a year and i have not fully control of my legs. is it possible to contact any doctor directly for some questions? thx

@SkpD1991 No because the disc is on the other side of the back. When you’re rubbing your back you’re rubbing the bone not the disc. And if you want to remove the disc without removing the bone, you’ll have to do a lot of tissue cutting, which isn’t really worth it when you can just remove a bone.

i dont get whats the point off removing bone. cant you just remove the disk without that?

@1RadicalOne I was wondering the same exact thing. Also, Isn’t that bone there to protect your spinal cord from being damaged by impact?

Does that not dramatically weaken that vertebra, cutting the back out of it?

@Avatarblackwolf Thankyou very much my friend for your good desires I hope in God everything will go ok, I would like to make you a question, I don’t know or even imagine what happens to the vertebral fragment taken apart? does the spine remains divided after the surgery as shown in this video? isn’t that dangerous if I practice sports like soccer or weight lifting for example? I’ll be in complete gratefullness with you, if you help me with some info like these my friend.

@Avatarblackwolf you are wright my friend, the word is torture, I remained three days at home with no life, it cannot be called life, I didn’t eat or sleep but screaming of a painfull torture, in the third day I went to the hospital, and the pain left me until the third day of really strong medication as morfine for example, my surgery of L4 L5 herniation will be on november 19th.
